celebrity hoop fest
so i havent posted in a while so i decided to post a awesome experience that I just had. I work out at LA Fitness and I occasionally play some ball there. Well today I decided to play a couple games and our squad won about 4-5x in a row then all of a sudden Jamal Crawford walks in and says he got next with his nephew that I knew from Highschool. It was amazing to see how he plays so up close on the court and of course we lost. His moves were so quick and fluent and that shot straight pullin on pplz faces. He looked like a center amongst all us normal folks but is a straight up shooting guard. He was a really cool nice guy and didn't like think he was higher then all of us because he was a pro, but just played like he was a regular there. I couldnt get a picture because 1. I was hella scared to ask and 2. didnt wanna embarass myself asking in front of hella people lol. this is a moment that I will never forget playing on the same court with the local professional.

Can't Stop The Crooks
News has it that the Crooks & Castles Flagship store in CA recently got robbed for about $25k worth of items (maybe some cash too). It's kind of ironic, because of what their brand represents. This is straight from their "About" section on their website.
"We at Crooks & Castles have always routed for the villain whether it be in a movie, a comic book, a novel, a rap song or everyday life. Growing up in Los Angeles during the 80's & 90's we became a part of this villainous lifestyle. Gangs were everywwhere - the hood, the city, even middle suburbia. Most had no choice but to adapt to the environment. Some were able to escape or even channel what they've learned on the street into something lucrative. What caught our attention in the mid 90's was independent fashion/graphic brands. After years of learning the in's & out's of the business by starting a brand without any knowledge of how to start or run a clothing company, we've finally come to this... "Crooks & Castles"! The concept was easy. "Crooks", criminals, pimps, hustlers, thieves, etc. And "Castles" those who got rich by becoming a crook. From the robber barons of the early times like the vanderbilts, the rockefellers, the carnegies to the modern day billionaires - Bill Gates & Microsoft. Those who stopped at nothing to get their "Castle". We too hope one day to be the next rich crook. In some of our designs you might see a familiar icon or logo that we took (stole) and gave it our own twist. We felt that some high fashion brands only catered to someone in a certain lifestyle or with a rather large bank account. Therefore we took what they made and crafted it to fit ours. In all honesty... who cares. We just really wanted to make some... Hot Shit! We thank you for supporting Crooks & Castles. Please keep supporting the Crooks and we'll keep servin up some hot shit!!"
I can't wait to hear their response to this whole ordeal. Should be interesting.

Counterfeiters Capitalize On 'Tiffany' Name
"The Feds Takin' Pictures"
When it comes to fine jewelry, no one shines brighter than Tiffany.
So when Sarah VanGrunsven was deciding a Valentine's Day present she had her heart set on a Tiffany chain and heart pendant.
"She'd mentioned that she'd found a few online that were reasonably priced and, of course, you know that sounded good to me," said Lee Van Grunsven.
Lee wanted to surprise his wife, so he went online while she was asleep and ordered the chain from the tiffanyjewelry.us web site.
"The website said that it was the true, legitimate Tiffany's," said Lee, who spent $89 for the bracelet -- a good price since it's listed for $190 at the Tiffany store.
"A few days later I saw it was a being shipped from China and I was like, 'uh oh.' This might not be legit like the website says it is."
When the package showed up, it was a counterfeit chain and pendant in a counterfeit Tiffany bag.
"They never responded to any of my e-mails of course, because they knew that they were caught that they were sending a knockoff," Sarah said.
Lee couldn't stick his Valentine with a cheap knockoff, so he went to a Tiffany store and bought the genuine chain.
But just what do you get when you wind up with a fake?
It starts with the bag. On a real bag the "Tiffany" label is embossed, but with the fake it's just printed on.
And when it comes to the actual jewelry, Gemologist Audrey Forrest of the Northwest Gemological Institute had no trouble telling them apart.
"Tiffany does take a lot of care to make sure theirs is manufactured with precision," she said. "They obviously use a cheaper process in the counterfeit."
Tiffany engraves its heart pendant, and the counterfeiters don't.
There's also a big difference in the chain links. Tiffany uses a perfect round shape, but the counterfeit uses non-symmetrical egg-shaped links, which are cheaper to make.
"The Tiffany bracelet which sells for $190 would appraise for $190," Forrest said. "This bracelet which was sold on the fake web site for $89 is really not worth the Tiffany that's on there. You're looking at a $50 to $60 bracelet because it's just a silver bracelet."
Tiffany says it tries to shut down web sites selling counterfeit jewelry, but clearly it can't stop them all.
So, how do you protect yourself?
Just remember this: Tiffany never has a sale, and it doesn't have an outlet store. There are no specials, and no discounts. If you're dealing with Tiffany, it's full price.

Duff Beer & Flaming Moe's

"Last summer we got to get a little taste of the Simson’s life when 7-11 picked up some Kwik-E Mart products, and others made a full transformation. We got squishys, pink donuts, and Krusty O’s and life was good. Now you can enjoy a little Duff and a Flaming Moe too! Sure they won’t get you drunk, but they’ll definitely give you a kick." - thedailydairy.com
You can order these Simspons themed energy drinks from Xoxide for $2.49 a can.

Fighting the Fakes
Louis Vuitton and Murakami make a show of it
(http://www.wwd.com --- by Marc Karimzadeh)
Murakami and a sample of the Monogramouflage
Make no mistake — Louis Vuitton is well-equipped for combat against counterfeiters.
Tonight, Vuitton is celebrating Takashi Murakami's "© Murakami" exhibition with a "Brooklyn Ball" at the Brooklyn Museum featuring a special performance by Kanye West, the unveiling of a new camouflage print developed by Murakami and Marc Jacobs called Monogramouflage and a special installation designed to bring attention to one of the industry's biggest travails — counterfeits.
